The Gurukulites got a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the famous Bollywood Actor, Mr. Shakti Kapoor at The Lalit Hotel , Chandigarh in Sep 2024.

To hone the entrepreneurial skills among Gurukulites, a ‘ Start up Competition ‘ on the lines of Shark Tank was conducted for the students of classes XI & XII wherein they showcased their innovative ideas of start ups. The event provided a valuable platform for the startups to gain exposure and network with industry experts and investors.

To commemorate the Earth Day 2024, the students of school’s Eco Club joined the initiative launched jointly by Green Planet Society and CRPF soldiers, for Voter Awareness by pledging to plant one tree for each vote in Gazipur Urban forest that has been created by converting the barren waste land into a ‘Green Area’ by the CRPF soldiers .

Annual Theatrical Musical Extravaganza- ‘HAIRSPRAY’ . In a splendid display of talent and dedication, the students of classes VI to XIl of The Gurukul, Zirakpur, gave an outstanding performance in a musical play, ‘Hairspray’. The show’s message of breaking down barriers and embracing diversity resonated strongly with the audience.

‘Change Makers’ of The Gurukul, Zirakpur, participated in an Inter School ‘Flash Mob’ competition – SPERANZA ’23 at RIMT World School, Chandigarh and secured 3rd position! The theme being ‘Youth- The Change Makers’, the students portrayed achievements of various young trail blazers of India.

To commemorate the National Nutritious week, a gala culinary competition, Nutritious Tiffin Contest ‘Cook Off- 2023’ was organised by The Gurukul, Zirakpur. The enthusiastic parents had prepared relishing healthy dishes keeping in mind the nutrition quotient of the ingredients. The competition was judged by the Ms. Nandita Karan, the Executive Chef from ‘The Lalit, Chandigarh.

In order to honour and deliver the importance of our Rashtra Bhasha -Hindi, ‘Hindi Diwas’ was observed by the students of Grade IV of ‘The Gurukul Zirakpur’. The students threw light on the evolution of Hindi language and showcased the different eras  through short plays, dances and recitation of ‘dohas’.

The Investiture ceremony of newly appointed Students’ Council  was held at The Gurukul, Zirakpur with much fervour and zeal to encourage and kindle the leadership qualities in our prodigies. They pledged to shoulder the responsibilities with utmost dedication and diligence. We wish them all the best for their successful tenure.

Cyber Safety Workshop was organised by the members of Digital Safety Club, students from SD College, Chandigarh in collaboration with Chandigarh Police under Cyber Swachhta Mission 3.0. The young Cyber Soldiers acquainted the students of classes IX-XIII about various intricacies of cyber world. Through an informative presentation and videos, they discussed about various cyber frauds, crimes and hassles and their solutions.

The students of The Gurukul Zirakpur  in association with an NGO ‘Green Planet Society’, celebrated Independence Day in a unique way. The school felicitated the soldiers of 5 Signal Battalion of CRPF who have taken upon themselves to convert barren and waste land of the tri city into green areas. Acknowledging the efforts of these CRPF soldiers, the young Gurukulites pledged to join hands with them in maintaining this land.

The young artists of The Gurukul, Zirakpur created magic at ‘India Calling’, an Inter School Competition held at Manav Rachna International school, Mohali by clinching third position amongst  18 participating schools. The theme was to create a folk art of any G20 country and the students chose South Africa.

Think-Pair-Share Competition (TPS), a collaborative learning programme was carried out enthusiastically. The children from classes III-V deliberated upon topics like ‘Measures to control Pollution in your City, How to inculcate reading habits among students’ etc. 

Wings of Hope – A Butterfly Garden at The Gurukul Zirakpur! In pursuance of its sustainable development goals, on the occasion of  Earth Day, The Gurukul  Zirakpur took the initiative in setting-up a butterfly garden in the school campus. The green warriors from fourth grade planted various host and nectar plants that attract butterflies.

Our signature ‘Nutritious Tiffin Contest’ was held Online in September 2021 as we observed ‘National Nutrition Week’  This contest was open for both Moms and Dads of our school and received a great response. The contest was conducted in two rounds and the final round was judged by city based renowned Chef- Nandita Karan from The Lalit, Chandigarh.

Our Gurukulites of grade IV observed First Aid Day and demonstrated various first aid and life saving skills during a live session and emphasized on the importance of how everyone needs to be capable to administer basic assistance to any person suffering from minor or serious injury or illness to be able to save lives.

Our students of grade V celebrated ‘Hind ki Bindi’ to mark ‘Hindi Diwas’ wherein they beautifully showcased the rich heritage of our Hindi language and culture. The students dressed up in various literary characters portrayed the role of famous sages and poets of the past and shared their famous literary work.

Our little Gurukulites are our pride and to appreciate each and every one of them, Children`s Day was celebrated at The Gurukul Zirakpur. All the children dressed up in their best, enjoyed fun-filled activities specially arranged by their teachers, who shared their heartfelt messages through videos!

The Gurukul Zirakpur, celebrated World Postal Day. The students of Grade-1 created beautiful collages on different types of Indian and International Postal Stamps and presented history and the origin of each stamp too. The students were motivated to adopt ‘Philately’ as their hobby.
